Matt Coding Tutor Privacy Policy
This policy covers Matt Coding Tutor at moonlightpixel.com/matt. Our other educational apps may have different practices. Contact support@moonlightpixel.com with privacy questions or requests.
Who can use Matt
Matt accounts are for people age 13 or older. If you are under 18, you need your parent or guardian's permission; an adult handles purchases. We ask for birth year at registration to check eligibility, but do not store that year. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us so we can review and remove the account and associated information.
Information we handle
- Account: email address, a securely hashed password, verification and password-reset records, account status, and optional marketing-email choice.
- Learning activity: questions, uploaded content you choose to provide, Matt's answers, generation history, credit usage, and lessons you choose to save. Avoid including sensitive personal information in prompts or uploads.
- Billing: plan status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, payment event identifiers, and Matt-credit ledger entries. Stripe and Link handle checkout, payment methods, taxes, receipts, and subscription management. We do not ask you to enter card numbers into Matt.
- Technical data: session cookies needed for sign-in and site operation, and ordinary server logs that may include IP address, device/browser details, and request times.
How we use information
We use this information to create and secure accounts, verify email, answer coding questions, process uploads and audio, show saved lessons and usage history, manage credits and subscriptions, provide support, detect misuse, and maintain the service. We send optional news and offers only when you choose that option at registration.
Service providers and sharing
Matt sends the content needed to provide a requested feature to service providers. This can include OpenAI for AI answers and analysis of submitted content; ElevenLabs when its voice service is used for narration; Resend for account emails; Stripe and Link for payments, tax, receipts, billing, and transaction support; and our hosting provider for operating the site. Some narration may instead be processed on our own server. These providers handle information under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users. We do not sell account information to advertisers.
Uploads, saved content, and retention
Text from an uploaded file may be included in the question sent for an answer. Uploaded images may be stored on our server for processing. Generated audio and saved lessons may also be stored on our server. Please do not assume that closing a browser tab deletes content already submitted. We keep account, learning, and transaction records as needed to run Matt, answer support requests, protect the service, and meet recordkeeping obligations. Backup copies and third-party records may remain for additional periods. We do not currently promise an automatic deletion date for every upload or generated file.
Your choices and requests
You can choose text instead of audio, avoid uploading files, and leave the marketing checkbox unchecked. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your Matt account by emailing support@moonlightpixel.com. We will verify the request and explain any information that must be retained for billing, security, or legal reasons. To manage payment information or a subscription, use the billing links in your Matt account or Link.
Changes
We may update this policy as Matt changes. We will post the updated version and date here. For important changes, we will provide an additional notice when appropriate.
